BSP Professional Development Series: Obtaining Buy-In

Register August 8th!

The purpose of the BSP Professional Development series is to provide behavior support professionals opportunities to advance their knowledge of PBS and brush up on topics covered during our Foundations of PBS course. Next up for the series is Obtaining Buy-In. This free training is a great opportunity to review and advance your understanding of obtaining buy-in in order to develop more effective positive behavior support plans.

Obtaining buy-in from individuals involved in the implementation of the positive behavior support plan is crucial to the success of reducing challenging behaviors while increasing quality of life. This training focuses on identifying and combating common problems with plan implementation while increasing buy-in from staff, families, agencies, and clients. We will discuss strategies that will increase the effectiveness of positive behavior support plans and reduce the difficulty of data collection for staff. This training will allow professionals to have a greater understanding of how to help individuals by preventing and troubleshooting common implementation problems.

After attending you will be able to:

  • Identify common problems associated with implementation of positive behavior support plans
  • Describe strategies to troubleshoot common problems
  • Outline ways to promote buy-in for staff, families, agencies, and clients
  • Identify appropriate data collection methods for less common challenging behaviors and frequencies

Pre-registration is required for this training.
