During the Introduction to Developmental Disabilities, we will discuss prevalent developmental disabilities, misconceptions and potential complications, as well as explore diagnostic characteristics of several developmental disabilities. We will also discuss how people may process information differently, communication strategies, the prevalence of co-existing disorders, and disability etiquette.
After attending, you will be able to:
- List characteristics of several developmental disabilities
- Review people first language and disability etiquette
- Discuss the diverse experiences of people with developmental disabilities
